one world united

Support our Vision:
Together We Can Create a Better World

We have created a rock climbing team to support kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities to promote physical, mental and social skills. By being united as a team we can create a new world for them through recreational and competitive rock climbing – this is how we thrive! You can engage them in life-changing adventures with a supportive community. With your support and the growth of our team nationally, we will introduce the sport into Special Olympics.

Do you want your child to try rock climbing or join the team? Send us an email, we will be more than happy to assist you!

If you want to impact someone’s life, you can contribute financially, with item donations or just volunteering some precious hours of your time. We will take anything we can get, it’s all about the kids, their families and their future.

Support our Organization to Promote Opportunities

United Rocks offers recreational and competitive rock climbing opportunities. Our committed, enthusiastic and fun rock climbing team serves kids ages 3+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are practicing top rope right now.

There are 4 types of rock climbing:

Auto belay

This is an automatic device that takes up slack as the climber climbs the wall and controls the descent, eradicating the need for a belay partner.

It is all about climbing on shorter walls, without a rope above crash mats.

Top Rope

It is a type of climbing on longer walls using a fixed rope. The rope runs from the belayer at the bottom of the direction to an anchor system at the top and backs down to the climber.

Lead Climbing

It is climbing on longer walls, without a fixed rope. As the climber goes up, they slide the rope into safety equipment connected to the wall.
